My name is Rojal Jerome Myers, and I am a multidisciplinary Filmmaker & Graphic Designer whose work explores identity, belonging, representation, and the ways in which people navigate the societies they are part of. Through film, and visual storytelling, I am interested in creating work that encourages reflection, challenges assumptions, and opens space for meaningful conversation.
Much of my practice centres on the experiences of people who exist between cultures, communities, and expectations. I am fascinated by the stories we inherit, the narratives we are told about ourselves, and the ways in which those narratives shape how we see others. Whether examining race, community, class, or identity, my work often seeks to uncover the tension between perception and reality, asking audiences to look beyond first impressions and engage with more nuanced perspectives.
How Much More?, continues this exploration through a series of symbolic and interconnected scenes inspired by the structure of a tarot deck. The project examines themes of visibility, accountability, contribution, resilience, and belonging within contemporary Britain. While the work addresses difficult and sometimes uncomfortable subjects, its intention is not to divide but to encourage dialogue, empathy, and understanding.
I believe that art has the ability to create conversations that statistics, headlines, and social media debates often cannot. By combining visual symbolism with lived experience, I aim to create work that invites audiences to question their assumptions, reflect on their own perspectives, and consider the experiences of others with greater curiosity and compassion.
Ultimately, my practice is driven by a simple question: how do we build stronger communities? Through storytelling, collaboration, and honest reflection, I hope my work contributes to that ongoing conversation.
